12 Years On Stage. A Lifetime Of Dance. A Mission To Teach.

Christina has lived the world of professional ballet and now it's her mission to make ballet accessible, safe and empowering for every dancer, anywhere in the world.

How did it all start?

Christina began her ballet journey at the age of 9 in a small local ballet studio in Tallinn, Estonia. Her teacher noticed the potential and advised Christina to audition for Tallinn Ballet School, the biggest pre-professional school in Estonia. She got accepted and started her full time training in 2004.

During her school years, she became a strong and driven dancer, recognised for her artistic qualities. Christina graduated with honours in 2011 and joined the Estonian National Ballet.

Professional Life

Christina danced with the Estonian National Ballet for 12 years, performing in all the known classics such as Swan Lake, Serenade, Sleeping Beauty, Giselle, The Nutcracker, Manon, Onegin, La Bayadere, Le Corsaire, Coppelia and many more. She also toured around the world with the company performing on historic stages such as the Mariinsky and Bolshoi.

But alongside the joy, she also faced challenges...injuries, self-doubt and the pressure that comes with professional ballet. These struggles later became one of her greatest strengths: the ability to guide and support other dancers, not only in their technique, but in their confidence and mindset.

Creation Of Face The Barre

In 2023, Christina made the difficult decision to step away from professional ballet due to recurring injuries. What first felt like an ending soon revealed itself as a beginning. Teaching had always been close to her heart and she quickly discovered that guiding others brought her even more joy as performing once had.

In February 2024, Christina founded Face the Barre, a ballet coaching platform created to make ballet accessible, safe and inspiring for dancers of all ages and levels. What started as 1-1 coaching, quickly grew into online courses, international Zoom classes and a community of dancers from around the world.

Life at the moment...

Today, Christina is fully dedicated to teaching and sharing her passion for ballet with dancers of all ages and levels. Through her online 1-1 coaching, group Zoom classes and courses, she helps dancers build strong foundations and confidence. Alongside her ballet expertise, Christina also obtained a personal training qualification, allowing her to help dancers not only refine artistry but also build strength and prevent injury.

Later this year, she will also open her own ballet studio in Tallinn, creating a space where dancers can grow in both strength and artistry. Her long-term goal is to make ballet accessible worldwide, whether in the studio or online, so that anyone with a love for dance can experience its beauty and discipline.
