FACE THE BARRE'S TUSCANY BALLET RETREAT TERMS AND CONDITIONS. 23.04-30.04.2027

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern participation in the Face The Barre Tuscany Retreat (the "Retreat"), held at Terzo di Danciano, near Cortona, Italy, from 23–30 April 2027. By registering for the Retreat or submitting payment of any kind, the Participant agrees to be bound by these Terms in full.

  1. Payment Policy - A €900 non-refundable security deposit secures a place on the Retreat. Alternatively, Participants may pay their chosen package price in full at checkout. Package pricing for the Étoile, Soloist and Duet options is set out on the booking page.
  2. Payment Schedule - Where the deposit option is selected, payments proceed as follows: a €900 non-refundable deposit is collected at the time of booking; the remaining balance is divided into two equal instalments, charged automatically to the payment method on file two and four months after booking; should a charge fail to process, further automatic attempts will follow; and where an instalment remains unpaid beyond a reasonable period past its due date, Face The Barre may cancel the booking and retain the deposit together with any instalments already collected.
  3. Registration and Confirmation - Bookings are allocated in the order they are received and a place is only guaranteed once payment of the €900 deposit or the full package price has cleared.
  4. Cancellation Policy (Participant-Initiated) - The €900 deposit cannot be refunded under any circumstances. Refunds on any amount paid beyond the deposit depend on the notice given ahead of the Retreat: cancellations made 60 days or more in advance receive a full refund of that amount; cancellations made between 30 and 59 days in advance receive half; and cancellations made fewer than 30 days in advance receive none, with any outstanding balance remaining due. Where a Participant arranges a suitable replacement, subject to Face The Barre's approval, these forfeiture terms may be waived at Face The Barre's discretion.
  5. Place Transfers - A booking may be reassigned to another individual up to 30 days prior to the Retreat, subject to Face The Barre's prior written approval. The prospective new participant must meet the same eligibility requirements set out in these Terms and Face The Barre retains full discretion to refuse any such request. Where a reassignment is approved, the incoming participant is bound by all Terms applicable to the original booking. No reassignment will be considered once the Retreat is within 30 days.
  6. Physical Readiness and Eligibility - Participants are responsible for ensuring they are physically prepared for the demands of the Retreat and registration confirms this is undertaken voluntarily. All participants must be 18 years of age or older. Face The Barre also expects participants to have at least one year of prior ballet training, with familiarity in a complete barre sequence and some grounding in centre work; class pacing is designed to support a range of abilities within that baseline.
  7. Medical Information - Any medical condition, allergy, dietary requirement or physical limitation likely to affect participation must be disclosed at the time of booking or as promptly as possible afterward. Where safety considerations warrant it, Face The Barre may request written confirmation of fitness to participate from a physician.
  8. Travel Insurance - As this is an international retreat, comprehensive travel insurance is strongly advised for all participants, with cover that extends to trip cancellation or interruption, medical treatment and evacuation and loss of personal belongings. Choosing to attend without insurance is done entirely at the Participant's own risk. Registration further confirms that the Participant considers themselves medically and physically able to undertake the activities the Retreat involves. Face The Barre and Terzo Di Danciano will also ask all participants to sign a liability waiver.
  9. Travel Documentation - Arranging the necessary documentation for travel to Italy, including a valid passport and any required visas or entry authorisations, rests entirely with the Participant. Face The Barre bears no responsibility for travel disruption caused by incomplete or invalid documentation.
  10. Indemnity - By registering for the Retreat, each Participant agrees to indemnify Face The Barre against any claim, legal proceeding or expense resulting from injury, illness, property damage or psychological harm connected to their involvement in Retreat activities.
  11. Physical Contact - Given the technical nature of ballet instruction, Christina may provide hands-on corrections to a Participant's posture or alignment during class in order to support correct technique.
  12. Removal and Participation Level - Where a Participant appears to be in physical or emotional distress, unwell or injured, Face The Barre may withdraw them from an activity until they are fit to continue. If the team judges that a Participant's current ability level presents a safety risk, Face The Barre may, after speaking with the Participant directly, limit their involvement in particular activities accordingly. Should a Participant's conduct prove disruptive or diminish the experience of others, Face The Barre may exclude them from the remainder of the Retreat and no refund will be issued in that case.
  13. Privacy and Respect for Property - Every Participant is expected to respect the personal space and belongings of others throughout the Retreat. Entering another Participant's room without invitation is not permitted, nor is using or borrowing their possessions without consent. Face The Barre applies a zero-tolerance approach to theft and privacy violations; any incident will be treated seriously and, where appropriate, referred to local authorities.
  14. Personal Property - Face The Barre accepts no liability for personal belongings that are lost, stolen or damaged at any point during the Retreat.
  15. Photography, Filming and Recording - Throughout the Retreat, Face The Barre and any third parties it authorises may take photographs, film footage and audio recordings, including during scheduled activities. Registering for the Retreat constitutes consent to appearing in this material. All resulting content remains the property of Face The Barre, which may draw on it for promotional or educational purposes at its discretion, with no further consent or payment owed to Participants.
  16. Room Allocation - Room type is determined by the package booked: Étoile includes a private en-suite bedroom, Soloist a private bedroom with a shared bathroom and Duet a shared bedroom with an en-suite for two guests. Each participant. regardless of the package, will have a double bed to themselves. For Duet bookings, Face The Barre assigns roommates directly, and Participants need not arrange this themselves in advance. Where two Participants wish to share a Duet room together, this can be accommodated if requested at the time of booking. Face The Barre may adjust room assignments where operationally necessary and individual rooms may vary in layout and features.
  17. Damages - Participants remain liable for the cost of any damage caused to Terzo Di Danciano or its contents through negligence or deliberate action and agree to reimburse Face The Barre promptly should this occur.
  18. Changes to the Retreat - Face The Barre may need to amend the schedule or activities before or during the Retreat and registrants will be informed by email of any material changes. Should Christina be unable to attend as planned, Face The Barre will arrange a suitably qualified substitute instructor; this does not entitle a Participant to a refund.
  19. Health and Safety Protocols - Face The Barre will observe applicable local health guidance in effect at the time of the Retreat. Where government restrictions make it impossible to proceed, the terms of Section 20 will apply.
  20. Cancellation or Postponement by Face The Barre - Where the Retreat must be cancelled or postponed for reasons beyond Face The Barre's control, including weather, force majeure, illness or public health restrictions, Participants will be offered either a refund, calculated as set out below or the option to transfer to a future Face The Barre retreat, subject to availability. Where the Retreat is called off in full before it begins, Participants will receive a complete refund, including the deposit, within 7–10 working days. Where the Retreat is cut short prior to its midpoint, Participants will receive half of the amount paid, again within 7–10 working days. Where cancellation occurs after the midpoint has passed, no refund will be issued. In all cases, refunds and transfers are limited to the ticket price paid and do not extend to incidental costs such as travel or additional accommodation.
  21. Refund Policy Summary - In summary: the €900 deposit is non-refundable in all cases; refunds on amounts paid beyond the deposit are governed by the tiers set out in Section 4; and except as provided under Section 20, all payments made toward the Retreat are final.
  22. Conduct and Alcohol - Participants are expected to exercise good judgment around alcohol. Consumption that impairs a Participant's own involvement or disturbs others is not permitted and alcohol may not be consumed in the period before or during any ballet class or physical session. Face The Barre retains the right to restrict or withhold alcohol from any Participant where it considers this necessary.
  23. Accessibility - Face The Barre is committed to making the Retreat as inclusive as possible. Participants who anticipate needing specific accommodations should get in touch ahead of time at [email protected] so arrangements can be discussed.
  24. Privacy and Data Protection - Face The Barre processes personal data in accordance with applicable data protection legislation. Information gathered at the point of registration or during the Retreat is used exclusively to administer the event, coordinate logistics and communicate with Participants.
  25. Force Majeure - Face The Barre accepts no liability for delays or failures in delivering the Retreat where these result from events outside its reasonable control, among them natural disasters, armed conflict, terrorism, industrial action, public health crises or government-imposed restrictions. Where such events occur, Face The Barre may cancel, postpone or restructure the Retreat as circumstances require.
